THE OTHER LIFE OF P.CFEY

WHY? Graphic designer for 12 years for the company Totem Creation where I created sets for series or unique, it has become essential to make my own delusions. Phobias, neuroses, obsessions ... . When they crossed my mind to escape from the bottom of my brushes, leaving my arm to invade the canvas and come back to me in the face, it's the best therapy I know.
HOW? The first of my obsessions painting is painted almost entirely on canvases coated black. For me painting has no interest if this process does not begin with cover whole or in part a completely black. I have painted on used boards in place of canvas. I discovered a particular pleasure: the resistance of wood under pressure from the brush, his roughened planks under the caress of the acrylic.
THE INSPIRATION: My favorite place of inspiration… the waiting room of surgeries… I leaf through high-speed, women's magazines full of images and advertisements that send me messages that I translated by Other images that I hasten to scribble on a small notebook that is always in my bag. I love the countryside and the sea, where I live, but it just inspires respect. The city is for me a real source of inspiration. Browse on foot, by bus, by car a big city (Paris, Lisbon, Barcelona…) is for me to browse images magazines. I see them as in a kaleidoscope that round from square. The contemporary dance is a wonder, docility of the body transformed and twisted, resound in me as living paintings. I would capture every gesture for fixing on my canvas. Pascale Chaleyssin-Fey
